Who Are We?
Constructing Futures is a local construction skills agency which has been created to meet the needs of local employers for a skilled workforce by providing advice, support and training.
Constructing Futures engages with employers, employees and trainees to increase the opportunities for local employment and training to meet local skills shortages.
As an employer or tradesman or woman, your industry needs you to be involved in training if it is to meet the demand for skilled workers in the coming years. Constructing Futures is committed to working with you to plan and train for tomorrow and address the skills shortage today.
Constructing Futures is funded by a number of agencies and organisations. Approximately half of the finance is provided by the European Social Fund (ESF), via the EQUAL Brighton & Hove project, in order to support young people and adults who face barriers to accessing training and employment and who are nor in education, employment or training. Under the guidance and management of City College Brighton & Hove, the remainder of the funding is provided by SEEDA via the Area Investment Framework, ‘eb4U’ which delivers the New Deal for Communities regeneration programme in East Brighton, The Links Foundation (which distributes the Working Links organisation’s Community Reinvestment Fund), The Learning and Skills Council, and the Construction Youth Trust.

Along with this website, we have created an Employers Information Pack to give easy access to information that will:
- Help your business to grow by recruitment of the right staff
- Inform you about the First Footings initiative for pre-apprenticeship and pre-employment training
- Show you ways in which you can support the industry both now and in the future
You can download a copy of the Employers Information Pack from the Constructing Futures Publications section opposite.
